Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

Marqo (CH-621.1.010.129-4), Switzerland, is responsible for processing your personal data when you use the marqo.ch website, the Marqo platform and its mobile apps Prompteur Marqo and Camera Marqo.

2. Data we collect

We collect the following data:

  • Account data: name, email address, password (hashed).
  • Organisation data: company name, industry, website, location, content strategy, logo and brand colours.
  • Content: scripts, posts, articles, images and videos generated on or uploaded to the platform.
  • Video and audio recordings: the videos you film with our apps, which contain your image and voice, and their transcripts.
  • Demo requests and conversations: name, email address, company and answers sent through the demo form or the website chat.
  • Usage data: technical logs, pages visited, features used.

3. Purposes

We use your data to:

  • provide and improve the Marqo services;
  • generate personalised content, edit your videos and produce their dubbed and captioned versions;
  • publish content to the social networks and blogs you connect, and read their statistics;
  • manage your subscription and billing, and send you service notifications;
  • answer demo requests and messages sent through the chat.

4. Processors and transfers

Videos are edited on Marqo's own machines. We entrust the following processing to service providers, only as far as the service requires:

  • Infomaniak (Switzerland): hosting of the website, database and files, email delivery and speech transcription. Processed in Switzerland.
  • Anthropic (United States): text generation and translation (scripts, posts, captions, card suggestions) and answers from the website chat.
  • ElevenLabs (United States): AI voice-over and dubbing. The audio of your videos is sent to it to produce versions in other languages with your voice.
  • fal.ai (United States): image generation from descriptions, your brand colours and your logo.
  • Brave Search (United States): web searches about your industry and company to enrich your strategy and content.
  • Google (United States): finding your business on Google Maps during setup, and demo appointments (Google Calendar and Google Meet).
  • Stripe (United States and Ireland): payment processing. Marqo does not store your card details.
  • Social networks and blogs (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, Medium): only to publish the content you authorise and read the statistics of your posts.

Some of these providers process data outside Switzerland, in particular in the United States. These transfers rely on the safeguards provided by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision (for example the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified companies) or standard contractual clauses. Marqo does not sell your data.

5. Your rights

Under the FADP (Switzerland) and the GDPR (EU), you have the following rights:

  • right of access to your personal data;
  • right to rectify inaccurate data;
  • right to erasure (account deletion);
  • right to data portability.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the European Union, with your country's data protection authority.

6. Mobile apps

Our mobile apps (Prompteur Marqo, Camera Marqo) access the following features of your device:

  • Microphone: audio recording for videos.
  • Camera: video capture.
  • Bluetooth: connection to the DJI Mic 2 microphone and sync between devices.
  • Storage: temporary storage of video files before upload.

Our apps contain no advertising trackers.

7. Cookies and local storage

Marqo only uses technical cookies required for the service to work (session, authentication, chosen language). The website chat stores an anonymous identifier in your browser to find your conversation again. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used. To measure visits to the public website, Marqo uses Umami, a tool hosted on its own server in Switzerland: it sets no cookies, builds no profile and does not store your IP address; the statistics are anonymous and aggregated.

8. Retention and security

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, it is erased within 30 days, except billing data kept under Swiss legal obligations. Video files are deleted automatically: 14 days after all language versions are published (30 days for the final version), and after 120 days at the latest for unpublished files.

Communication with Marqo is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed and access to data is limited to the people who need it to provide the service.
